5 Reasons Thailand Still Dominates the Digital Nomad Scene in 2024
Ep 043: Despite people telling you the opposite
You’ve probably heard the noise—people whining that Thailand is "over," that it’s too crowded, too expensive, and not the hotspot it used to be.
Let me call it what it is: complete nonsense.
Thailand still reigns supreme in the nomad scene, and anyone who says otherwise is either delusional or hasn’t actually been here in years.
Here’s why the so-called "experts" are wrong and why Thailand is still the place to be in 2024.
Today we will uncover why that is and also why I don’t think it is going to change anytime soon given the current political climate in the West.

5 Reasons Thailand Still Dominates the Digital Nomad Scene in 2024
I’m here to flip the script and show you the five reasons why Thailand is still a goldmine for digital nomads—and why the naysayers just don’t get it.
1. High-Quality Condos at Low Prices
Let’s get one thing straight: Thailand still offers some of the best living arrangements for digital nomads.
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket—take your pick.
The condo market here is stacked with options that are not only luxurious but also insanely affordable compared to Western standards.
We’re talking high-rise buildings with pools, gyms, co-working spaces, and all the amenities you could want.
And the price? 500 to 700 USD is enough to get a high-end place for a month.
You can snag a swanky one-bedroom in the city for what you'd pay for a shoebox apartment in London or New York. Plus, there are plenty of short-term lease options, perfect for nomads who like to keep their options open. So, while people whine about "rising prices," they’re clearly not looking hard enough.
"Thailand is one of the most open, welcoming, and uniquely spiritual countries in the world."
2. Connectivity and Infrastructure
The second reason is simple: Thailand’s connectivity and infrastructure are top-notch and put first-world countries like my own (Germany) to shame.
The Internet is lightning fast and cheap. Period
In fact, the entire infrastructure is set up to cater to people who work remotely. Cafes, co-working spaces, and even restaurants are designed with the modern digital worker in mind.

You can literally roll out of bed, grab your laptop, and be sitting in a fully equipped space with reliable Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and great coffee within minutes. Which is exactly what I do every day.
This is where the West falls short—sure, you can get a coffee in a café back home, but can you sit there all day, working without dirty looks from the staff?
Thailand gets it.

3. Amazing Food and conveniences at your fingertips
There’s a reason food bloggers and travel influencers rave about Thailand’s cuisine—it’s damn good. And it's not just good; it’s cheap.
Whether you’re grabbing street food in Bangkok or sitting down at a high-end restaurant in Chiang Mai, the food will blow your mind without blowing your budget.

You can feast on a plate of pad Thai or spicy papaya salad for a fraction of what a meal would cost back home. Want fresh seafood? It’s abundant and ridiculously affordable.
And the best part? You’ll never run out of new things to try. Sure, the prices are creeping up in some places, but compared to what you’d pay in any Western city,
Thailand is still a bargain.

4. It’s Still Cheap—Even With Inflation
Yes, the cost of living has increased in Thailand; no denying that. But if you compare it to any major city in Europe or the U.S., it’s still laughably cheap.
You get a much higher standard of living for a fraction of the price. Think about it: rent, food, transportation, entertainment—all of it is still affordable.
Inflation has hit everywhere, but Thailand still wins when it comes to value for money. Westerners whining about Thailand becoming expensive is really just annoying.
Out here, your dollar, euro, or pound still stretches a hell of a lot further.
How a Year of Writing Taught Me Why Every Brand Needs a Newsletter
A year ago, I had no clue about newsletters. I didn’t see the potential, didn’t even know where to begin, but I started writing every week, and here I am now—completely sold on the power of newsletters.
What I’ve discovered is that newsletters aren’t just another piece of content. They’re a direct line to your audience, free from the algorithms and censorship that plague social media.
This realization hit me hard as I worked on my own newsletter, and the potential for building personal brands became crystal clear.
Now, I’m excited to share that I’ve got a new client I am ghostwriting for. I’m building her newsletter, and it’s going live next week.
They offer creators and influencers something social media simply can’t—control over your communication.
Social platforms are rented spaces, but your newsletter? That’s yours 100%
And in this world, where so much is out of our hands, that kind of ownership is priceless.
I’m now reaching out to more creators and influencers because I believe, without doubt, that everyone needs a newsletter.
If you’re serious about building something lasting, this is the way.
Beehive’s built-in monetization makes paid subscriptions easy to implement.
SparkLoop’s referral system drives organic growth through incentivized referrals.
Advanced analytics from both platforms help track and optimize subscriber engagement.
Easy integration with Stripe streamlines payments without technical headaches.
Customizable templates ensure your newsletter looks professional without coding.
If you want to know how to do that, then you can book a call here and I will explain to you how to do it.
5. Community and Dating Scene
Let’s be real—community matters, and Thailand has one of the best digital nomad networks out there. Whether you’re in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or on one of the islands, you'll find a massive community of like-minded nomads who get what you're about.
You want to connect with ambitious people, make friends, and collaborate on projects? This is the place.
And as a guy, let’s not pretend the dating scene isn’t a major draw. Thai girls are beautiful, and Tinder dates are easy to line up.
Now, admittedly, you do need to filter out the prostitutes.

Sex tourism in Thailand is definitely a downside—you have to filter through the noise.
But let’s not act like the West doesn’t have its own version of the problem. The problem with prostitution might be more obvious here, but in the West, the OnlyFans epidemic and widespread promiscuity are signs of a deeper problem caused by modern feminism
I might be wrong about this but I think it's a different dating landscape altogether, with less contention and divisiveness. At least that's how I perceive it.
Thank you for reading and see you next week!
