The Uncharted Road Ends Here ⛔️
Ep. 053: Why I stopped being a digital nomad (for now)
Hello there! Roman is back with a fresh perspective, and I have made some life-changing decisions.
I am settling down in Bali.
Building my ghostwriting agency here
Getting married next week
The last one was a joke. 🤭
Exactly a year ago, I started my writing journey with little more than hope for a better future. I was sitting in Bali, feeling lost, broken, and unsure how to climb out of the hole I had dug.
The first rule of being in a hole is to stop digging.
So, I began writing daily, took some photos, and shared whatever ideas came to mind. I called it The Uncharted Road.
December 2023
It wasn’t a newsletter. It was a letter to my younger self. From despair to hope, scarcity to abundance, and uncertainty to clarity, I rediscovered gratitude, rebuilt confidence, and embraced freedom.
But some bridges have a limited lifespan.
Sometimes, you have to burn them to build something greater. Here I am, one year and 52 editions later, full of lessons, struggles, and growth, and it’s time to let go.
The Uncharted Road helped me reflect, find meaning, and transform from a bankrupt guy with a camera back into the entrepreneur I was always meant to be. It gave me clarity and strength.
Here’s my first takeaway for you:
Purpose isn’t assigned, nor is it permanent.
We can lose it, and we can find it again. Losing my first company felt like losing my identity and my purpose. But I persevered, and eventually, I found something new.
One thing I’ve realized is that while purpose may shift, certain aspects of who we are, our core character, remain steadfast.
Character doesn’t change easily. We evolve, learn, and endure experiences that leave marks. But the essence of who we are, like being extroverted or skilled at certain things, often stays with us.
For me, I’ve always been adept at selling, envisioning ideas, and connecting with people. After everything I’ve been through, I can now add resilience to that list too.
Fast forward: I recently began working as a ghostwriter.
In just a month, I’ve landed three major clients.
1) A dating coach and influencer, I Landed My First 2M+ Follower Ghostwriting Client 😎
2) A Marketing Agency
3) A hotel here in Bali, where I will move in today
To sharpen my skills, I just joined the Premium Ghostwriting Academy. Yesterday I had my onboarding call with my personal success coach, and I am excited about this. My writing has significantly improved over the past year, but I still need to improve further because my clients deserve the best.
If you stay with me, I promise to share everything I learn with you. We'll get better and grow as a team.
So, here’s to the next chapter.
Today, I’m introducing: The Nomad CEO.
My new mission is crystal clear:
"Helping male solopreneurs break free from toxic environments, build thriving, one-person, location-independent newsletter businesses, and live life on their own terms."
This rebrand isn’t just a name change—it’s a reflection of who I’ve become and where I’m going.
I’m no longer the person who started The Uncharted Road.
I’m excited to share this journey with you—whether it’s the strategies I use to ghostwrite for three major accounts or the principles behind building a successful newsletter business that’s both profitable and liberating.
Right now, I’m finalizing the new look for The Nomad CEO—and I’d love your input.
Please let me know which logo you like best.
